Bratabase Case Study

UX Design
My Role
End-to-End UX Designer
Project Duration
January - April 2021

This was a project done as part of the Google UX Design certification program.

Bra shopping is a confusing mess of sizing systems and often doesn’t account for the shape of the wearer’s body. Bratabase.com is one resource that aims to make this process less confusing for consumers, but it lacks a clean mobile experience.

After researching what shoppers need and want out of a bra-buying experience,  I wanted to create a mobile experience based on Bratabase's extensive sizing system. My solution allows for a larger overview of the bra market, and includes an easy way for users to get a more accurate size. The experience of buying a bra should also be more inclusive and empowering for users.

User research data revealing that people buy bras based on their comfort and fit more than other factors.
A competitive audit of the Venus and AdoreMe shopping apps. Also a screenshot of Bratabase.com's table.
User personas for three different bra shoppers, based on different needs. One has a larger bust and does a lot of research. One is transgender and has specific physical needs. The third persona is more bargain-conscious than fit-conscious.
A user flow for finding the right size and making a purchase in the app.
Wireframes and sketches for possible app layouts
Features of the sizing page so that users can store their fit information.
The first steps of the sizing quiz, measuring cup and band size with a choice of units of measurement.
More steps of the fitting quiz, including breast shape and other considerations a bra should have.
Branding and typography decisions for the app.
Final screens for the homepage, the user reviews, and the checkout screen.
Wireframes showing 5 different screens of the flashcard app.Two "before" pictures of the flashcard website on the left. On the right, there are four screens of the new app design.A diagram of flashcard screens designed for screens of 320px, 768px, and 1440px in width.
